Chobia Pass is one of the high mountain passes in the Chamba district, Himachal Pradesh, India. Located at an impressive altitude of around 5,029 meters above sea level, it connects the Chamba valley with the Pangi valley. It's the second-highest pass in the Pir Panjal range in the Himalayas and serves as a trekking route for adventurers seeking solitude and unspoiled nature. The terrain is challenging and features steep ascends, glacier traverses, and a stark, rugged landscape. Trekkers often start from Bharmour in Chamba district, passing through scenic villages like Chobu and reaching the top of Chobia Pass. This region remains covered in snow for a significant part of the year and is only accessible during a few summer months, making it even more exclusive for trekkers. Local shepherds, known as Gaddis, frequently use this pass for their seasonal migration with their herds. The beauty of Chobia Pass lies in its untouched and serene environs, offering panoramic views of the majestic Himalayas.
