Best Time To Visit Alexander Point (Matheran) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Alexander Point, Matheran

When planning a trip to Alexander Point in Matheran, Maharashtra, India, the best time to enjoy the area's picturesque beauty is from October to May. During these months, the weather is pleasant, with clear skies that offer unobstructed views of the stunning landscapes. The monsoon season, which typically runs from June to September, brings heavy rainfall to Matheran, which can make the trails slippery and risky for trekking or sightseeing. Additionally, the dense fog often obscures the scenic views from Alexander Point during the monsoon, making the post-monsoon period a much more opportune time to visit.

If you are particularly interested in enjoying the lush greenery and waterfalls that come alive during the monsoon, late September might be a good compromise, as the rains start to diminish, and the region retains its verdant beauty. However, for the best visibility and the most comfortable trekking conditions, the winter season, from November to February, is ideal. The temperature during this period is cool, ranging between 15°C and 25°C, which is perfect for outdoor activities around Alexander Point. In spring, from March to May, the weather gets slightly warmer, but the increasing heat is still bearable, making it a fine time for visitors to explore the tranquil beauty of the place.
