Darshan of Shri Amaranath cave temple is a lifetime experience
I want to share my experience of Amarnath Yatra 2023 for the devotees /pilgrims of next year. My wife , me and other four friends started from Pahalgaon by helicopter to visit the holy cave on 11.7.2013. We reached Panjtarni at 11 A.M. From where we have booked pony to reach the holy cave .Pony ride tested our patience as it took almost two hours to reach the dropping point marked before the cave. We have to walk almost 1.5 km to reach the holy cave. Oxygen level at this height was very less that took a heavy toll on our stamina. However the view and scenery of the entire path was so amazing that we have forgot the tiredness of journey . It took another 45 minutes merely to deposit the belongings as there was limited number of locker rooms. Then we have queued for darshan. Though the queue was not too long but it took almost two and half hours to climb 200 + steps to reach the holy cave and have darshan of Lord Shiva. We have full of satisfaction after darshan of Lord Shiva, Baba Barfani and Maa Parvati. We were lucky enough to see two pigeons in front of Cave. We have some strange feelings and it was a life time experience . However our return journey was not smooth rather it was very much scary. As Amarnath Darshan / yatra was remained suspended for preceding two days it was expected that number of pilgrims/ Darshanarthi will be large on 11th. But no precautionary measure was seen to be taken by the administration. After darshan we have reached the place where we have got down from pony. Sorry state of affairs started from this point. There were thousands of ponies, palkis and devotees travelled by foot. There was lack of proper management to control the crowd. Every body wanted to go first by pushing or elbowing. There was complete chaos and some of the devotees were fell down from pony and got hurt. We were standstill riding on pony almost one hour. There was no management to control the crowd. We were compelled to travel in night after waiting for hours to make path for our pony. Even two of our companions fell down from their pony. We were lucky enough returned safely with blessings of Lord Shiva. My suggestions to the devotees (i) Try to book pony from Shrine Board agent only (ii) Keep with everyone water and dry fruits to overcome unavoidable situation. (iii) For senior persons and others who are not physically strong enough it will be better to take palki instead of pony.

Amarnath mandir
Amarnath gufa is a must visit for every Hindu. The vibrations there are unbelievable. The shivling is there only for 1st week , after that it starts melting away. It is a tough journey ofcourse. Though you can do this journey as a one day trip, but please do plan to stay up there incase of emergencies, as the weather being very unpredictable, choppers don't fly always, so in that case you might need to stay back. Not recommended to go with small kids. The facilities like tents and washrooms are there. There are langars available for food. Medical emergency can be taken care of. Path is very narrow . Ponies and palkis go and come same way.

A Dream Jouney
After two years ban on Yatra this year govt allowed Amarnath Yatra from 30 June to 11 August 22 .We were four in the team including my wife . We are from Bangladesh . From our country we couldn't do registration . However we decided to go to Srinagar and Get it . We got registration on 14 July and moved to Nunuwan base camp on 15 July . Due to bad weather on 16 July Yatra was postponed .On 17 we moved from Pohelgam to Chandanwadi at 05 am . By 07 am we cleared Chandan wadi gate . We hired horse each with 8000 rupee for going and coming .By 09 am we started our journey . After two km we came across Pisu top the scary hill. It is 11000 feet high . Its narrow stair stone route .All the route is filled with double way traffic of pedesterenian ,horses and duli .After taking couple of minutes rest we proceded to Sheesh nag . Now geography is changing . Instead of green top hills its all rocky mountain . After Sheeshnag we crossed Goneshtop ,14800 feet height .By 0430 we reached Panchtarani . We spent the night in tent and had food in Vandara ( free food distribution centre). Next morning at 0430 am we started for Amarnath cave by 0430 am . It was all dark and we were climbing the hills on horse back .By 0630 we reached the first market . From there we walked upto Temple . One needs to climb many stairs to reach temple . Al of us could reach and had darshan .

Travel in to the lap of Mighty Himalayas
I had been here twice during the last five years and spent more than 6 weeks camping. there is a season during which you can visit Plan your trek/visit in such a way that you reach either for the morning arthi or the evening maha mangalaarthi which takes around 6 pm. Cleanliness is lacking in the area around, the travelers need to be more trained or fined when not adhering to cleanliness

Amarnathji Yatra 2019 Travel dates were 17th July till 19th July 2019 The travel was Delhi - Srinagar by Air (approx. 2hrs), then Srinagar to Neelgarth (Baltal Helipad) by Taxi - 4 hrs (INR 1800/- PP), Neelgarth to Panchtarni by Helicopter - 5-7 min. (INR 1150/-). Overnight stay at Panchtarni (INR 500/- per bed). Next day early morning 3.30 am yatra start from Panchtarni to Holy Cave (6kms) - 3 hrs. Attended Morning Aarti. Best to reach during at Aarti time - Morning/Evening and participate in the 30min for experiencing the Spectacular/Spiritually /Mantra/Energy/Divine/peace . Langar (Food) / Health care services are provided along the yatra route and Army and local people contributes to smooth functioning. Definitely carry Rain Wear and woolens. Also please carry shoes which has grip as have to walk through snow at various places. The divinity of the place will take away all the tiredness of body and gove positive vibes all around. One will feel at Peace. 2020 Amarnath ji Yatra was called off due to Covid but devotees did darshan sitting at home both in the morning and evening Aarti. Look forward to 2021 Amarnath ji Yatra. If you are thinking of undertaking this journey and big thumbs up. Bol Baba Barfani ki Jai. Om Namah Shivay.
