Baguio Cathedral, officially known as Our Lady of the Atonement Cathedral, is one of the most iconic landmarks of Baguio City in the Philippines. Perched on a hill accessible by a long flight of stairs, the cathedral stands majestically with its pink facade, twin spires, and traditional stained glass windows. It was established by Belgian missionaries and designed by architect Igorot Uabac, with construction beginning in 1920. The church was consecrated in 1936 and dedicated to Our Lady of Atonement. Having survived the bombings of World War II, it served as an evacuation center, providing refuge for thousands. The Cathedral offers a panoramic view of Session Road and the downtown commercial district. Tourists and locals flock here, not just for the spiritual ambiance, but also to take in the views and appreciate the architecture that reflects the unique culture and history of Baguio. The serene atmosphere within the cathedral offers a peaceful retreat from the city's bustling activities.
