Type of destination: Urban Street
Ideal visit duration: 2-3 hours
Session Road is the main thoroughfare of Baguio City, the summer capital of the Philippines, and is a bustling hub of activity. It runs through the heart of the city and is a melting pot of Baguio's cultural, commercial, and entertainment scenes. Rich in history, the road was named after the Philippine Commission held its first session there. Today, it is lined with an array of shops, cafes, restaurants, and bakeries, offering local and international cuisines, as well as a variety of shopping options. At the upper end of Session Road is the Baguio Cathedral, a historic church that offers a panoramic view of the city. The lower end is a common site for parades and festivities, especially during the annual Panagbenga Flower Festival. The road slopes upward, reflecting the city's mountainous terrain, which can be a workout to navigate but offers a cool, pine-scented experience. Session Road is not just a street; it embodies the spirit and vibrancy of Baguio, making it a must-visit location for tourists and a central convergence point for locals.
