Boracay is a small island in the central Philippines known for its white sandy beaches and vibrant nightlife. Although it's a secluded paradise, getting there is quite straightforward. Below are the steps to reach Boracay:
The first step to getting to Boracay is to book a flight to the Philippines. The most common international entry points are through Manila (Ninoy Aquino International Airport) or Cebu (Mactan-Cebu International Airport).
From Manila or Cebu, you can take a domestic flight to either Caticlan (Godofredo P. Ramos Airport) or Kalibo International Airport.
If you land in Caticlan, the jetty port is just a short tricycle ride away, about 5 to 10 minutes. From Kalibo, you will need to take a bus or van transfer which you can pre-book or arrange upon arrival.
Regardless of whether you’re coming from Caticlan or Kalibo, you must take a boat to Boracay. Boats operate from 5 AM to 9 PM daily. The boat ride takes about 15 to 20 minutes.
Once you arrive in Boracay, you'll take another short tricycle or e-trike ride to your hotel. Some resorts also offer direct transfers from the port.
Ensure to keep some cash with you for terminal and environmental fees required at the Caticlan Jetty Port. It's also recommended you check with your hotel regarding transportation, as they may offer a transfer service that could make your journey to Boracay smoother.
