Best Time to Visit BRT Tiger Reserve
The Biligiriranga Swamy Temple Wildlife Sanctuary, often referred to as BRT Tiger Reserve, is situated in the Biligiriranga Hills of Karnataka and is renowned for its diverse ecosystems ranging from scrub forests to tropical evergreens. The best time to visit BRT Tiger Reserve is from October to May. During these months, the weather is most favorable with cooler temperatures and minimal rainfall, providing the most comfortable conditions for wildlife safaris and exploring the rich flora and fauna. Particularly, the post-monsoon period, from October to November, offers lush greenery and vibrant wildlife sightings as the forest rejuvenates, making it an ideal time for nature enthusiasts and photographers.
However, if the goal is to spot tigers and other wildlife, the dry season between March and May is highly recommended. This is when animals tend to congregate around water sources, thereby increasing the chances of sightings. The deciduous forests shed their leaves, improving visibility. It is essential to note that during the summers, temperatures can soar, so early morning or late afternoon safaris are advisable to avoid the midday heat. Regardless of the season, visitors should always carry light cotton clothing for the day, and warmer layers for cooler mornings and evenings, as well as necessary protection from the sun.
