Chandragiri Fort, located near the town of Bekal in the Kasaragod district of Kerala, India, is a historical fort with rich heritage and picturesque vistas. Built in the 17th century, this fort offers splendid views of the Chandragiri River joining the Arabian Sea. The Chandragiri Fort, constructed with laterite stones, showcases the traditional architecture of the time. It sits atop a hill and is surrounded by the river on three sides, giving it strategic importance in history. The ramparts of the fort are still evident, and visitors can explore the remnants of the royal buildings within its compounds. The fort overlooks the river bank which is lined with coconut trees and fishing boats, offering a serene and tranquil atmosphere. The nearby town of Bekal is famous for the larger and well-preserved Bekal Fort, which adds to the region's touristic appeal. Both forts are remnants of the region’s old military strategy and defense mechanisms.
