Ideal visit duration: Half-day to Full-day
Coloane Village is the historical southernmost part of Macao, China, and is known for its rich cultural heritage, well-preserved colonial architecture, and tranquil atmosphere. With pastel-colored Portuguese buildings, narrow cobblestone streets, and quaint shops, it offers a stark contrast to the bustling casino resorts of Macau. Coloane is famous for its traditional Macanese cuisine, including the iconic Lord Stow's Bakery, known for their egg tarts. Visitors can explore the Tam Kung Temple and the Chapel of St. Francis Xavier, both reflecting the blend of Chinese and Portuguese influences. Aventura do Alto de Coloane is a popular hiking trail that provides breathtaking views and leads to the statue of A-Ma, a cultural landmark. Besides, the Coloane Village waterfront promenade is perfect for leisurely strolls, offering beautiful views of the South China Sea. The village also has several beaches nearby, such as Cheoc Van Beach and Hac Sa Beach, which are famous for their black sand.

Nice experience to see Macau outside of those gaudy casinos.

Beautifully preserved ???????? village…
…with some idyllic lanes and squares, as well as some destination draws in terms of food. Wandering round was exactly what we wanted from our first trip to Macau for so many years, we loved it!
