Best Time To Visit Cruise Around Ha Long Bay (Ha Long Bay) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Ha Long Bay

Exploring Ha Long Bay, with its mystical landscape of limestone islets rising from the emerald waters, is a highlight for many travelers to Vietnam. The best time to take a cruise around Ha Long Bay is during the spring (March and April) or fall (September to November) when the weather is most favorable. During these months, the temperatures are comfortable, ranging from 20°C to 25°C (68°F to 77°F), and the chances of clear skies are higher, making for great photo opportunities. Additionally, the calmer waters in these seasons ensure a smoother sailing experience. However, it's important to note that even though these times are ideal, they coincide with peak tourist seasons, which means popular spots can be crowded and prices may be higher.

If you prefer to avoid crowds and don't mind cooler weather, consider visiting in the winter months (December to February). While it can be misty and cold, with temperatures dropping to around 10°C to 15°C (50°F to 59°F), the mist can add a mystical atmosphere to the bay's scenery. Rain is scarce in the winter, but you should be prepared for colder conditions. It is advisable to avoid the summer months (June to August) despite the warm weather, as this period brings the monsoon with heavy rainfall and the risk of typhoons, which can disrupt travel plans and cruise schedules. Packing waterproof clothing and checking weather forecasts regularly is essential if you choose to cruise during this season.
