Getting to Da Lat

The city of Da Lat, known as the "City of Eternal Spring," is nestled in the southern parts of Vietnam's Central Highlands. Reach this charming destination through various modes of transportation:

By Air

Lien Khuong Airport (DLI) is the nearest airport to Da Lat, located about 30 kilometers south of the city. It serves both domestic and international flights.

  • Domestic Flights: Regular flights connect Da Lat with Vietnam’s major cities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and Da Nang.
  • International Flights: There are limited international routes; check airlines for the most current services.
Upon arrival at Lien Khuong Airport, you can take a taxi or shuttle bus to reach the city center.

By Bus

Da Lat is well-connected by bus with major cities such as Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC), Nha Trang, and Mui Ne. Various companies operate comfortable buses, including sleepers and seats.

  • From HCMC: It takes about 6-8 hours by bus.
  • From Nha Trang: Travel time is around 3-4 hours by bus.
  • From Mui Ne: Expect a bus journey of 4-5 hours.
Buses drop passengers at Da Lat's central bus station from where you can take a taxi to your accommodation.

By Car or Motorbike

If you're up for a road trip, consider renting a car or a motorbike for added flexibility. The drive is scenic, with winding roads and mountainous terrain.

  • From HCMC: The approximate driving time is around 7 hours for a distance of about 300 kilometers.
  • Safety Note: Ensure that you are experienced in driving on mountain roads and have a valid driving license.

By Train

While there is no direct train to Da Lat, you can take a train to Nha Trang and then continue by bus.

  • Train to Nha Trang: Enjoy a scenic train journey and then a 3-4 hour bus ride to Da Lat.
