Best Time To Visit Data Darbar (Lahore) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Data Darbar, Lahore, Pakistan

When planning a visit to Data Darbar, one of Lahore's most venerated Sufi shrines, timing is key to ensure an immersive and spiritually enriching experience. The complex is open year-round, welcoming visitors and pilgrims alike, but the best time to visit is generally during the cooler months from October to March. During this period, the weather in Lahore is pleasant with lower temperatures, making it more comfortable to explore the shrine and participate in the daily rituals. Visitors can avoid the intense heat of the late spring and summer months, which can be quite harsh, especially from April to June, when temperatures can soar to uncomfortable levels.

Furthermore, a highly recommended period to visit Data Darbar is during the annual Urs festival, which celebrates the death anniversary of the Sufi saint, Syed Ali bin Usman Al-Hajvery, commonly known as Data Ganj Bakhsh. This event takes place in the Islamic month of Muharram, usually falling on the 18th, 19th, and 20th days. Urs attracts thousands of pilgrims from across the country and from abroad, transforming the shrine into a hub of religious activity, spiritual dances, and Sufi music. If you're interested in experiencing the local culture and religious traditions at their peak, planning your visit to coincide with the Urs festival at Data Darbar is highly beneficial.
