Deosai National Park, known as the 'Land of Giants', is situated in the Skardu district of the Gilgit-Baltistan region, in northern Pakistan. Stretching across an area of approximately 3,000 square kilometers, it stands at an elevation of about 4,114 meters above sea level, making it one of the highest plateaus in the world. The park is renowned for its rich biodiversity, home to many species of flora and fauna, including the endangered Himalayan brown bear. Its landscape is adorned with wildflowers during the summer, creating a vibrant mosaic of colors against the backdrop of rolling grasslands and snow-capped peaks. Numerous rivers, including the Shigar River, originate from the park, contributing to the lush biodiversity. Deosai is characterized by its alpine climate, with long, harsh winters and short summers.
