Sheosar Lake is a majestic alpine lake situated in the Deosai National Park, within the Skardu District of Gilgit-Baltistan in Pakistan. This breathtaking lake lies at an elevation of 4,142 meters (13,589 feet) above sea level, making it one of the highest lakes in the world. Sheosar Lake spans approximately 2.3 kilometers in length, with an average width of 1.8 kilometers. Surrounded by the spectacular Deosai Plains, the lake is renowned for its crystal-clear waters that mirror the sky and the rugged beauty of the surrounding snow-capped peaks. The area around Sheosar Lake is rich in diverse flora and fauna, providing habitats for rare species like the Himalayan brown bear. The lake is accessible via Skardu in the north or the Astore District in the west. The region presents a stunning variety of natural landscapes, from lush meadows and wildflowers during the brief summer to the icy, windswept plateaus in the winter.
