Dhekiakhowa Bornamghar is a renowned place of worship established by Saint-reformer Madhavdeva in 1461 in Jorhat, Assam, India. It stands as a significant center for the Ekasarana tradition of Vaishnavism in Assam. Famed for its rich cultural and religious heritage, the temple complex is home to an eternal lamp lit by Madhavdeva, which has been burning continuously since its inception. The name 'Dhekiakhowa Bornamghar' comes from the Assamese words 'Dheki' (a traditional rice mill) and 'Khowa' (eat), associated with a legend where Madhavdeva received rice from a supernatural event. Devotees throng this Naamghar (prayer hall) for its spiritual ambiance and historical significance. Surrounded by a serene landscape, it is a hub for religious discourses, prayers, and festivals. The annual Raas Mahotsav celebrated here draws large crowds from across the region. The architecture of Dhekiakhowa Bornamghar, with its intricate patterns and designs, reflects the Assamese style and has a main hall where congregational prayers are held, along with the sacred lamp.
