How to Reach Diskit, Ladakh, India
Diskit is a quaint village in the Nubra Valley of Ladakh, in the Indian state of Jammu & Kashmir. Reaching Diskit can be an adventure in itself due to the remote and rugged terrain of Ladakh.
By Flight:
The nearest airport to Diskit is the Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport in Leh. It is approximately 120 kilometers away from Diskit.
From Leh, visitors can hire a taxi or use local bus services to reach Diskit. The journey will take you through some of the world's highest motorable roads, including Khardung La Pass.
By Train:
Ladakh does not have a railway station. The nearest major railway stations are in Jammu Tawi (~700 km from Leh) and Chandigarh (~780 km from Leh). From these stations, you’ll need to hire a taxi or catch a bus to Leh and then proceed to Diskit.
By Road:
Diskit is well-connected to Leh by road. Travelers can opt for JKSRTC buses or hire a taxi to reach Diskit from Leh. Travelling by road will require passing through high-altitude passes like Khardung La.
