Arriving in Jerusalem
By Air
The nearest international airport to Jerusalem is Ben Gurion Airport (TLV), located near the city of Tel Aviv. From there, you can opt for one of the following modes of transportation to reach Jerusalem:
- Taxi: You may take a direct taxi from the airport to Jerusalem. The ride typically takes about 45 minutes to an hour, depending on traffic conditions.

- Train: There is also a train service connecting Ben Gurion Airport with the Yitzhak Navon Train Station in Jerusalem. From there, you can take a taxi or light rail to the Old City.

Reaching the Dome of the Rock
Once you're in Jerusalem:
- The Dome of the Rock is situated within the Old City walls, which can be accessed through several gates. The closest gate to the Dome of the Rock is the Dung Gate.
- Visitors can take a short walk from the Western Wall plaza up to the Mughrabi Gate (entry for non-Muslim visitors to the Temple Mount).
- Alternatively, you can enter the Muslim Quarter through the Damascus Gate or the Lion's Gate, both of which are a walking distance to the site.
- Light Rail: Jerusalem's Light Rail has a stop at the Damascus Gate. From there, the Dome of the Rock is just a walk away.
- Private Vehicle: If you are coming by car, note that parking around the Old City is limited. It's recommended to park outside the Old City walls and walk or take public transport to one of the gates.
