Best Time to Visit Eco Park in Cherrapunji

Cherrapunji, known locally as Sohra, is home to the enchanting Eco Park, renowned for its lush landscapes and breathtaking views of the "Seven Sister Waterfalls" and the Bangladeshi plains. The optimal time to visit Eco Park hinges on your preference for either a verdant panorama or clearer vistas. If you're drawn to vibrant greenery and cascading waterfalls, the best period to visit is during the monsoon season, which spans from June to September. Cherrapunji is one of the wettest places on Earth, and the monsoon period offers the full splendor of the park with an abundance of water and a thriving eco-system. However, be mindful that heavy rains can cause accessibility issues, and it's wise to check the weather forecast before planning your trip.

If you prefer to explore when the skies are clearer and the rainfall is minimal, consider visiting between October and May. During these months, the weather is predominantly pleasant, with reduced precipitation offering better opportunities for sightseeing and outdoor activities. October to March can be notably favorable, with temperatures ranging from 12°C to 20°C (54°F to 68°F), making it comfortable to indulge in extended explorations of the park. Remember that from April to May, the climate transitions into the pre-monsoon season, when sporadic showers may occur, but overall the visibility and accessibility to Eco Park's attractions, such as the living root bridges, remain good. Tourists often find the balance of mild weather and lush surroundings during these times the most enjoyable for visiting Eco Park.
