Nohkalikai Waterfalls, located near Cherrapunji in the East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya, India, is one of the highest plunge waterfalls in India, with a height of approximately 340 meters. It is nestled amidst the lush and verdant woods of Meghalaya, fed by the rainwater collected on the summit of the comparatively small plateau and decreased to a mere trickle during the dry season. The name Nohkalikai translates from Khasi as 'Jump of Ka Likai,' which is linked to a tragic local legend. The waterfall is a renowned tourist attraction and is particularly spectacular during the monsoon, when the water volume amplifies and creates a powerful plunge into a scenic, blue-green pool below. The surrounding cliffs and forest contribute to the dramatic scenery, offering several vantage points for taking in the breathtaking vistas of the waterfalls and its surroundings. Visitors can also find a well-maintained viewpoint that offers panoramic views of the waterfalls and the gorge below.

Worth a visit
Yes, its high and the surrounding scenery is pretty, but it was somewhat underwhelming for the number one tourist attraction for Cherapunjee. One can take a few pictures and selfies and check the box..
