Kynrem Falls is located in the East Khasi Hills district near Cherrapunji (Sohra), which is one of the wettest places on Earth. Cascading down from a height of about 335 meters, it is the tallest plunge waterfall in India. This three-tiered waterfall is a spectacular sight, especially during the monsoon season when the flow of water reaches its peak. Surrounded by dense forests and steep rock formations, the area around Kynrem Falls offers stunning vistas and a serene environment where visitors can enjoy nature's splendor. The drive to the falls takes one through winding roads with breathtaking views of the valleys and gorges. Accessibility to the best viewpoints requires a short trek, which is an opportunity to immerse oneself in the lush greenery and to possibly spot some of the local wildlife. The falls are within Thangkharang Park, known for its panoramic view of the plains of Bangladesh and its rich biodiversity, adding more to the visitor experience at Kynrem Falls.
