Elephant Trunk Hill, also known as Xiangbishan, is one of the most famous tourist attractions in Guilin, Guangxi, China, and is a natural wonder that resembles an elephant dipping its snout into the Li River. It is named for its striking resemblance to an elephant drinking water. The hill is a mixture of natural landscape and cultural significance, with various carvings and poems inscribed in the rocks dating back to the Tang Dynasty. The main feature of Elephant Trunk Hill is the Water Moon Cave: a round, open cave in the river that resembles the moon. The cave creates a magical scene, especially on moonlit nights. Additionally, the hill is beautifully illuminated at night, creating a breathtaking sight. Visitors can explore the park surrounding the hill, take boat trips to have a closer view, or climb to the top for a panoramic view of Guilin. There are also a number of historical sites, including the Puxian Pagoda atop the hill, which adds to the charm and cultural richness of the location.
