Best Time To Visit Elephant Trunk Hill (Guilin) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Elephant Trunk Hill in Guilin, China

The ideal period to visit Elephant Trunk Hill, one of Guilin's most iconic landmarks, is between April and October. During this timeframe, visitors can enjoy the comfortable subtropical climate with temperatures ranging from 20°C to 28°C (68°F to 82°F). The warmer months provide the perfect weather for outdoor activities such as photography, sightseeing, and cruising along the Li River. Spring, specifically from April to June, is a great time to witness the verdant landscapes and blooming flowers, making the scenery around Elephant Trunk Hill exceptionally picturesque.

However, the absolute peak season is typically from July to September when domestic tourism is at its highest due to school holidays. While the weather is hot and humid, this period showcases Guilin at its most lively. Visitors should be aware that during the National Day Holidays in the first week of October, the area can be particularly crowded. For those who prefer a more tranquil visit with fewer crowds, the shoulder seasons of late October to November or late March to early April are recommended. These times still provide pleasant weather and clearer days with less rainfall, offering a balance between enjoyable weather and a more peaceful experience.
