The Hiroshima Museum of Art is one of the most prestigious art institutions in Japan, and reaching it is straightforward from multiple transit options available in Hiroshima City.
If you are coming from outside Japan, travel to Hiroshima by landing at the Hiroshima Airport (HIJ). From the airport, you can take the Hiroshima Airport Limousine Bus to Hiroshima Bus Center, which takes about 45-50 minutes.
Arrive at Hiroshima Station if you are coming by Shinkansen (bullet train) or local train. The Shinkansen provides convenient connections from major cities like Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka.
From Hiroshima Station, take a tram from the Hiroshima Electric Railway. Board tram line 1 or 2 heading to Hiroshima Port (Ujina). Get off at Kamiyacho-Higashi or Kamiyacho-Nishi stations. The museum is a short walk from either tram station.
You can also take a bus from Hiroshima Station. Buses are available directly from the station to Hiroshima Bus Center. From the bus center, the museum is within walking distance.
Hiroshima is a very walkable and bike-friendly city. You can rent a bicycle or enjoy a pleasant walk to the museum, especially if you are staying in a central location.
