Women Power!
The reason for this marketplace's existence is more compelling than the market itself. Not the best place for buying small memorabilia items, but seemed like a good spot for traditional clothes and fresh meats and veggies (in case you're staying in Imphal for a long period of time and want to try your hand at some of the delicious local delicacies.)

Ema Market
This 500 year mother's market is amazing. Run by all women traders. So friendly and warm experience. True example of women power. If you are in Imphal this should be on your bucket list. Live example of hard work.

Large, interesting market
Tourist information focusses on the women's market, but there's much more than that. We found the fresh fish and dried fish zones particularly interesting because of the variety on offer. We hadn't realised fish was such an important part of the Manipur diet. There were also fruit, vegetables, chickens and ducks for sale, though surprisingly little other meat. The women 's market has a lot of clothes, fabrics and handicrafts.

All women’s Market
It is a good market with lots of small stalls . In the whole market you will not find a single man on the stall. One can get all traditional Manipur stuff here. There is a lot of bargaining too. It is a big market Fish, vegetables and fruits too. It gives a different experience which is good.

A must See/Do in Imphal
Women power is what is on display everywhere in Manipur -and more so at Ima Meithel Women's Market. A terrific array of Manipuri textiles and a whole bunch of interesting indigenous vegetables, spices, fish, etc.
