Mecca, known as Makkah in Arabic, is the holiest city in Islam and is located in the Hejazi region of Saudi Arabia. Furthermore, the development of high-speed railways and improved airports has enhanced connectivity for tourists.
To cater to a growing number of pilgrims, Mecca is seeing continuous development in hospitality, with more hotels being built in close proximity to the Kaaba to provide a wide range of accommodations. Additionally, there is a focus on increasing efficiency and capacity of services related to the Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages.
The Saudi government is also investing in the upkeep and renovation of historical and cultural sites in and around Mecca, promoting the education of Islamic history and heritage to pilgrims and visitors.
