Best Time To Visit Kawah Putih (Bandung) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Kawah Putih, Bandung, Indonesia

Kawah Putih, also known as the White Crater, is one of the stunning natural attractions in the Bandung area of Indonesia. The best time to visit Kawah Putih is during the dry season, which generally spans from May to September. During these months, you can expect less rainfall, which not only makes the journey to the crater more comfortable but also reduces the likelihood of fog and mist obscuring the view of the sulphuric lake's vibrant hues. The temperature during this period is usually cooler as well, ranging from 10°C to 20°C, providing a pleasant climate for sightseeing and exploration. Additionally, the weather is more predictable, allowing visitors to plan their trip without having to worry too much about sudden weather changes.

Furthermore, visiting during the weekdays, particularly in the morning right after the site opens at around 7 AM, is highly recommended to avoid the crowds that can gather during weekends and national holidays. As Kawah Putih is a popular spot, it tends to get busy, which can detract from the serene experience of viewing the picturesque crater. Moreover, the soft morning light offers a magical view of the crater, and the temperatures will be more comfortable for walking around and taking photographs. Keep in mind that even during the dry season, the weather can be quite unpredictable, and fog can sometimes roll in quickly, so it's always a good idea to check the weather forecast before your visit and to arrive early to make the most of your time at Kawah Putih.
