Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten stands majestically on a ridge above the Punakha Valley, Bhutan. This unique temple was built to remove negative forces and promote peace, stability, and harmony in the ever-changing world. Commissioned by Her Majesty the Queen Mother Ashi Tshering Yangdon Wangchuck, it was constructed over a span of nine years and completed in the early 2000s. The Chorten is a splendid example of Bhutanese architecture and artistic traditions, with elaborate wall paintings and carvings that illustrate the complexity of the Buddhist teachings. Visitors can explore this four-story structure, which offers various statues and a shrine dedicated to the Bhutanese protective deity, Yeshe Goenpo (Mahakala), on the top floor. Climbing up to the Chorten provides breathtaking panoramic views of the verdant Punakha Valley, with its terraced rice fields and meandering rivers. The trail to Khamsum Yulley is a pleasant hike through pine trees, providing a serene and spiritual experience amidst the calming nature of Bhutan.

worth visiting place.. must definitely go !!

the temple is around 45mins trek from the parking place !! the hike is beautiful and upon reaching the top, you will find great views and nicely built temple !! we can surely take many insta / fb wort..
