Kiradu Temples Tourism

The Kiradu Temples are a group of ancient temples located in the Barmer district of Rajasthan, India. They are situated near the village of Hathma in the Thar Desert. These temples date back to the 11th and 12th centuries and are fine examples of the architectural brilliance of that period. The site consists of five temples, with the Someshvara Temple being the largest and most magnificent one. The intricate stone carvings and sculptures on these temples depict various deities, dancers, and musicians, showcasing the skills of craftsmen of the bygone era. The Kiradu Temples were originally dedicated to Hindu deities, and their architectural style bears a resemblance to that of the temples in Khajuraho. Over the years, these temples have suffered neglect and the harsh desert climate has taken its toll on the structures.
