Kuching Waterfront Tourism

Kuching Waterfront is a picturesque esplanade located along the banks of the Sarawak River in Kuching, the capital city of the Malaysian state of Sarawak on Borneo Island. Spanning approximately 900 meters, it is a popular destination for both locals and tourists alike, offering stunning views of the Astana (the former Palace of the White Rajahs) and Fort Margherita across the river. The waterfront promenade is beautifully landscaped with walkways, gardens, and an array of historical monuments and buildings that tell the story of Kuching's rich heritage. Visitors can enjoy a leisurely stroll, take a sampan ride to get a closer glimpse of the Malay Kampungs or the traditional wooden stilt houses, and soak in the vibrant atmosphere. At night, the area comes alive with a bustling bazaar, live performances, and street food stalls where you can sample local delicacies. The iconic Darul Hana Bridge, a modern S-shaped pedestrian bridge, offers a striking contrast to the traditional architecture and provides an excellent vantage point for photographs.
