Kudremukh National Park is a biodiverse protected area located in the Western Ghats of Chikkamagaluru district in Karnataka, India. Covering an area of 600.32 kmĀ², the park is named after the eponymous peak, Kudremukh, which means 'horse-face' in the local language and refers to a particular view of a side of the mountain that resembles a horse's face. It is a habitat for several endangered and endemic species of plants and wildlife, including the lion-tailed macaque, tiger, leopard, and Malabar giant squirrel. The park is noted for its scenic beauty, with dense tropical evergreen and semi-evergreen forests, rolling grasslands, and intersecting streams and rivers. It offers various trekking routes and is known for its picturesque trek to the Kudremukh peak. The landscape is also dotted with numerous waterfalls, the most notable being Hanuman Gundi falls. The region receives heavy rainfall during the monsoon which enriches its flora and fauna.
