Best Time To Visit Lagoon Surrounding Kavaratti (Kavaratti Island) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit the Lagoons surrounding Kavaratti, Lakshadweep, India

Lakshadweep's tropical climate makes it a year-round destination. However, the best time to visit the lagoon surrounding Kavaratti is from October to May. During these months, the weather is moderately warm and pleasant, with less humidity and clear skies, which makes it perfect for water activities like scuba diving, snorkeling, and kayaking. The lagoon's crystal-clear waters and abundant marine life offer an exceptional underwater experience in this timeframe. Moreover, the water temperature is just right for long durations spent swimming in the lagoon.

It is advisable to avoid the monsoon season, which runs from June to September, as the seas get rough, and the heavy rains can lead to disruptions in ferry services and water activities. Monsoons also inhibit visibility underwater due to sedimentation, which is not ideal for marine explorations. The post-monsoon period, particularly late September and October, can sometimes offer calm sea conditions and the newly refreshed flora on the islands is a sight to behold. Regardless of when you visit, ensure to check the local weather and marine forecasts before planning your activities in and around Kavaratti's enchanting lagoons.
