Lakhi Jungle is a notable natural area located around 15-20 kilometers from Bathinda, Punjab, India. The name 'Lakhi' stems from the belief that Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikhism, recited one lakh (100,000) paths or hymns of sacred Japji Sahib here. It is part of the historical and sacred Gurdwara Sahib. In the past, this locale was a dense forest, but now it has been developed to cater to visitors and devotees coming here. The area is not only important from a religious viewpoint but also as a spot of ecological significance. Encompassing a vast stretch of greenery, it presents a refreshing change from the bustling city life and is a peaceful area for spiritual reflection. The forest is home to various flora and fauna and provides a serene atmosphere for pilgrims and nature lovers. The Gurdwara within Lakhi Jungle frequently organizes religious gatherings and langars, fostering a strong sense of community among visitors.
