Qila Mubarak, situated in the city of Bathinda, Punjab, India, has a great historical significance. It stands as a monumental edifice dating back to approximately 1900 years. The fort is a unique example of the robust military architecture of its time and has witnessed various events that have shaped the region’s history. Built by Raja Dab, the fort was later refurbished by Maharaja Ala Singh of Patiala. The architecture is predominantly made of bricks, which at that time was an innovation in construction material for forts. This fort ties to many significant historical figures, including Razia Sultan, who was imprisoned here in the 13th century, and the Sikh Guru Gobind Singh, who visited in the 18th century. Over the years, the fort has stood the test of time and is an emblem of the rich cultural heritage of Punjab. Today, it acts both as a tourist destination and an archaeological marvel, offering insights into the past glory of Indian fortresses and the various cultures that influenced the region.
