Baratang Day Trip - Sadai Tours and Travels
Baratang is beautiful place for a day trip for which you need to go by cab and sharing boat. We go through Jarwa tribe forest reserve area along with a convoy and later through the mangroves by boat. The trip usually starts at 6am and will be ended at 5pm. We went through Sadai Tours and Travels who made all arrangements for a wonderful trip. Thank you Gopal Uncle for all the arrangements. Good exerience for Tracking and natural wonder
It was good experience of 1.2 KM tracking and visiting limestone cave, also you will be going through forest area where still tribes people live while going from Port Blair to Baratang. Main cave which is open for public is not very big and you may expect some crowd depending on time of visit. As per my guide there are many such caves there but only that is allowed for public. To able to visit cave you have to start very early in the morning, for me it was 3 AM. Few tips: - Inform your hotel in Port Blair on previous day, so that they can provide packed breakfast for you in early morning while leaving if breakfast is included in your hotel stay. - Keep water bottle, sun-scream, cap. - wear light and comfortable cloths, as you will be reaching by almost noon it will be humid and hot Make sure not to touch limestone, as it might make them dead. Follow your guide instructions.

Strictly no no for kids and if you are on leisure vacation!!
Nice place, Travel agent will ask you to start at 3.30 from hotel, for sure you will miss the morning buffet at hotel, Cab will run for 47 km and stop at check post where u can use washrooms, have some tea (powder milk tea, not good). wait there till 6 am, when the 1st convoy starts. then it all Jarwa forest fro next 47 km, approx 2 hours in cab, road is pathetic. You will reach a jetty where all the cabs are parked and cross the riverbank usig govt ferry ticket is 13 rupees. 2-3 ferries run in rounds in 10 min you will reach bartang Island. At the other end fiber boats are booked, 10 persons per boat, 900 per person charges. Drop you in midst of mangroves. From there you will walk for 2 km to reach limestone caves. This is a very narrow 60 meter caves where approx 100 ppl are present in peak season, you will not want to spend more than 10 minutes there and will want to come out asap. you can have lime water for 30 rupees near caves which is refreshing. Notes - 1. Strictly not recommended for kids, they will ask you all the way when we will reach hotel. 2. Over all its much hyped if you are going for a leisure vacation avoid this. 3. walking on wooden bridge in mangroves on wooden platform is nice experience. 4.Mosquitoes in mangroves.

A must visit place in Island
Great experience and adventurous trail of 1 km through village and forest. Totally dark inside with a canopy through Stalactites formation and some stalagmites growing from ground.
