Getting to Longpan Park, Pingtung, Taiwan
Longpan Park is a scenic area located on the southern coast of Taiwan, in Pingtung County. Known for its vast grass fields, spectacular clifftop views, and geological wonders, it is a popular destination for tourists and nature lovers alike.
By Public Transportation
To visit Longpan Park using public transportation, there are several steps involved:
- Take the High Speed Rail (HSR) or a regular train to Zuoying Station in Kaohsiung, which is the closest major city to Pingtung.
- Once at Zuoying Station, transfer to the Kaohsiung MRT and go to the Kaohsiung Main Station.
- From there, you can catch a bus to Kenting area. Look for the Kenting Express Bus or other local buses that pass through the Hengchun Peninsula.
- Get off the bus at the Eluanbi Lighthouse Station, which is the closest stop to Longpan Park.
- From the Eluanbi Lighthouse Station, it is possible to take a taxi or rent a scooter to reach Longpan Park. The distance is approximately 4km, making it a short drive or ride.
By Self-Drive or Rental Car
If you prefer to drive yourself:
- Rent a car at Kaohsiung International Airport or in Kaohsiung City.
- Drive along the Provincial Highway No. 1, which connects to Provincial Highway No. 26 leading through the Hengchun Peninsula towards Kenting.
- Follow the signs to Longpan Park. The park is well-signposted and can be found shortly before reaching Eluanbi, at the southern tip of Taiwan.
Parking Information
Parking is available at Longpan Park. There are designated parking areas for visitors' vehicles, and it is a short walk from the parking area to the main scenic spots of the park.
