Visit Mawkdok Dympep Valley View

Located in the East Khasi Hills District of Meghalaya, India, the Mawkdok Dympep Valley View offers a mesmerizing gateway to the scenic landscapes of Cherrapunji (Sohra). The best time to visit this stunning location is during the monsoon season, which typically runs from June to September. This period is when Cherrapunji, one of the wettest places on Earth, comes to life with flourishing greenery and cascading waterfalls. The valley is shrouded in a mystical cloak of mist and low-hanging clouds, offering visitors a truly ethereal experience. Photographers and nature lovers alike will find this season ideal for capturing the lush surroundings and enjoying the cool, crisp air filled with the fresh scent of rain-soaked earth.

Alternatively, the months of October to May offer clearer skies and a different perspective of the valley. During these months, the rainfall decreases significantly, allowing more outdoor activities and uninterrupted views of the sweeping gorges and undulating hills. This is also an excellent time for trekking through the surrounding trails and exploring the nearby living root bridges. With less precipitation, the roads are more accessible, making travel to and from various attractions, including the famous Mawkdok Dympep Valley Viewpoint, more comfortable. Visitors planning to avoid the heavy monsoon rains but still wanting to see the waterfalls in their full glory should consider visiting early in the post-monsoon season, around late September to early October.
