The Moorish Mosque, located in Kapurthala, Punjab, India, is a remarkable monument and a testament to the secular history of India. Built in the early 20th century under the patronage of Maharaja Jagatjit Singh, the last ruler of Kapurthala, it is an architectural gem designed by French architect Monsieur M. Manteaux. The mosque exhibits a blend of Indo-Saracenic and Moorish architectural styles, but its design is predominantly modeled after the Grand Mosque of Marrakesh, Morocco. The structure is adorned with ornate frescoes, intricate designs, and a beautiful dome, reflecting the sophistication of Islamic art and architecture. The interior of the mosque is just as impressive, with its Belgian glass chandeliers and splendid artwork, offering visitors a glimpse into the regal past of the Kapurthala state. The mosque is not only a significant religious site for the Muslims but also a popular tourist destination due to its unparalleled beauty and historical importance.

Mosque of Many Moods & Tales
I've been to Marrakesh and I've see the Moorish Mosque of Kapurthala and I must say that for a King or Maharajah to construct something this grand for his subjects speaks volumes of his responsibility..
