How to Reach Na Muang Waterfalls
Na Muang Waterfalls, a majestic set of two cascades on Koh Samui, is located about 10 kilometers south-east from Nathon, the island’s main town.
By Motorbike or Car
Renting a motorbike or a car is a popular option among tourists for its convenience and flexibility. Once you're in Koh Samui:
- Head towards the town of Nathon.
- Follow the signs for Na Muang Waterfalls off Route 4169.
- There is free parking available at the entrance.
By Songthaew
Songthaew is a shared pick-up truck that operates like a bus service around the island:
- Flag down a Songthaew on its route to Nathon.
- Inform the driver of your destination.
- Costs will vary, typically around 50-100 THB per person.
By Taxi
Taxis are widely available but it's advisable to agree on the fare beforehand:
- Booking a round-trip can sometimes yield a better deal, as it can be difficult to find a ride back.
- Negotiate the price before you start your journey.
By Guided Tour
This is the most hassle-free option:
- Many companies offer day trips to Na Muang Waterfalls, including pick-up and drop-off.
- Guided tours usually include other activities in their itinerary.
Walking or Hiking
For the adventurous, there's also the option of walking:
- It's a roughly 30-minute walk from the entrance to the first waterfall.
- Bring comfortable shoes and be prepared for a bit of a climb.
Note: The area is open from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM. It's advisable to visit during daylight hours for the safest experience.
