Nabji Lhakhang is a sacred temple located in the heart of Bhutan, specifically in the Trongsa District. It is nestled amidst the pristine Himalayan landscape, offering breathtaking views and a serene environment for visitors and pilgrims alike. As per local legend, the temple was established by Guru Rinpoche, a revered Buddhist master who introduced Buddhism to Bhutan in the 8th century. This site is considered to be one of the '108 temples' built by the Guru to subdue a demon. The temple is a significant religious hub for the local community and is well-known for its ancient murals and artifacts. The architecture of the lhakhang reflects a typical Bhutanese style with richly decorated facades, woodwork, and elaborate paintings depicting various Buddhist teachings and deities. The lhakhang is also a part of the Nabji-Korphu community-based trekking trail, a popular route that showcases the cultural and natural beauty of central Bhutan. By being part of this trek, visitors not only get to explore the lhakhang but also engage with the warm and welcoming local communities along the route.
