Nartiang Monoliths Tourism

The Nartiang Monoliths are situated in the Jaintia Hills district in the state of Meghalaya, India. These intriguing stone structures are a part of the megalithic culture existing among the Khasi and Jaintia tribes. The monoliths are a group of tall, rust-colored stones, which are believed to have been erected to mark the reigns of the erstwhile Jaintia kings. Many of these structures are mere stones vertically placed with the tallest ones reaching up to 8 meters high, while others are table stones (locally known as 'Moo Shynrang' and 'Moo Kynthai') used for sacrifices.
