The tombs are an example of the rich cultural heritage of the Jaintia people, with each grave featuring a dome-like structure called 'Mooloo' and an intricately crafted 'Menhir' or standing stone. These monoliths mark the place where the kings and nobles have been laid to rest, and they stand as silent testimonies to the region's bygone era. Tough to trek
It took me about ten hours to trek the entire trail, with gaps of fifteen-twenty minutes in between. THe view of the Khasi and Garo hills from the upperside slopes was amazing.

Very steep but thrilling
The trek was rugged and steep all along the way. But what really filled my heart with charm was the view of the Khasi hills from the top.
