Best Time to Visit Nelapattu Bird Sanctuary

Nelapattu Bird Sanctuary, located near the coast of Andhra Pradesh, India, is an important habitat for migratory and resident waterbirds. The best time to visit the sanctuary is during the months of October to March when the weather is relatively cool and pleasant. These months coincide with the winter migratory season, where thousands of birds travel from their northern breeding grounds to the warmer climates of India to escape the harsh winter.

During this peak season, visitors will have the opportunity to witness an array of bird species, including the rare and endangered Spot-billed Pelican for which the sanctuary is known. The sanctuary's tanks and wetlands come to life with avian activity, providing birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts with an unforgettable experience. It is advisable to visit early in the morning when the birds are most active and also when fewer tourists are present, allowing for a serene and intimate connection with nature.
