By Train

From Tokyo: The most convenient way to get to Nikko from Tokyo is by train. You can take the Tobu Railway from Asakusa Station directly to Tobu-Nikko Station. The fastest option is the "Revaty" limited express, which takes about two hours. Alternatively, you can take the JR Tohoku Shinkansen from Tokyo Station to Utsunomiya Station, then transfer to the JR Nikko Line to reach JR Nikko Station.

By Bus

There are direct highway buses from Tokyo's Shinjuku Station and Tokyo Station to Nikko. This trip also takes approximately two hours, depending on traffic conditions.
