Nurpur Fort, an architectural marvel, is situated in the picturesque town of Nurpur in Pathankot district of Punjab, India. The fort has a rich history dating back to the 11th century and was originally known as Dhameri. It was later renamed in honor of Nur Jehan, the wife of Mughal Emperor Jehangir. The fort, perched on a rocky ridge, showcases a blend of Mughal and Rajput architectural styles. Despite being in ruins, Nurpur Fort still stands tall exhibiting its ornamental gates, walls adorned with carvings, and remains of the royal palace. A popular attraction within the fort is the Krishna Temple which draws devotees and tourists alike. The serene surroundings coupled with the historical significance of the fort make it a captivating site for visitors. It also provides a panoramic view of the nearby Jabhar Khad river, adding to its scenic charm.
