By Car or Taxi

By Bus

By Train

The scenic train journey from Mandalay to Pyin Oo Lwin is another viable option. It departs from Mandalay's central station and will also require a taxi or motorbike taxi from Pyin Oo Lwin's station to Peik Chin Myaung Cave. The journey by train offers the added benefit of experiencing the famous Gokteik Viaduct.

  1. Depart from Mandalay towards the northeast on Theik Pan Street towards 35th St.
  2. Continue onto Route 3.
  3. After about 42 kilometers, turn right onto National Highway 31.
  4. Follow the signs for Pyin Oo Lwin - you will pass through town on your way to the cave.
  5. Peik Chin Myaung Cave is located on the road leading to Lashio, just beyond Pyin Oo Lwin.
