Getting to Pir Sohawa:

There are several ways to reach Pir Sohawa:

By Road:

  • Private Car/Taxi: You can hire a private car or taxi to get to Pir Sohawa. The drive is about 17 kilometers from the center of Islamabad, and it should take you around 40 minutes. The road is winding and steep, so drive with caution.
  • Public Transport: Public buses and vans run from different parts of Islamabad to the foot of the Margalla Hills. From there, you might need to take a taxi or hike up if no direct buses are available.

By Hiking:

  • Trail 3: For the more adventurous, you can start from Trail 3, which begins near the Margalla Road in Sector F-6. The trail is quite popular among hikers and takes approximately 2-3 hours to reach Pir Sohawa on foot.
  • Trail 5: Another route is Trail 5, which is a bit easier compared to Trail 3. It starts from Margalla Road in Sector F-5 and also leads to Pir Sohawa.

Note:

The best time to visit Pir Sohawa is in the early morning or late afternoon to avoid the midday heat. Also, keep in mind that during the weekends, the place can get crowded with tourists and locals alike, especially near the restaurant areas.
