The fort stands at an impressive height of 1,080 meters above sea level and offers a panoramic view of the coastal Konkan region. Pratapgad is historically significant for the Battle of Pratapgad that took place between Shivaji and Afzal Khan, the general of the Bijapur Sultanate.
