Pydithalli Ammavari Temple Tourism

Pydithalli Ammavari Temple is a sacred Hindu temple dedicated to the local deity Pydithalli Ammavaru, located in the heritage city of Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh. The origin of the temple is linked to the Pydithalli Ammavaru, who is believed to be the incarnation of an elder sister of the royal family of the Vizianagaram estate. Legend narrates that Pydithalli Ammavaru's spirit entered into an idol after her mortal demise and since then, the idol is revered in this temple. The temple holds great significance for the local populace who converge here during an annual Jatara (festival) known as Sirimanu Utsavam, where thousands of devotees celebrate with fervor.
