Traveling to Qinhuai River, Nanjing

By Air

If you're coming from far away, the most convenient method is to fly into Nanjing Lukou International Airport (NKG). From there, you can take the following steps to reach the Qinhuai River:

  • Take the airport shuttle to the South Railway Station or take metro line S1 to Nanjing South Railway Station.
  • Transfer to metro line 3 and get off at Confucius Temple Station (Chinese: 夫子庙). The Qinhuai River is a short walk away from here.

By Train

Nanjing is well-connected by high-speed trains from major Chinese cities like Beijing, Shanghai, and Hangzhou. You can arrive at Nanjing Railway Station or Nanjing South Railway Station. Use the following options to get to the river from the train stations:

  • From Nanjing Railway Station: Take metro line 1 to Xinjiekou Station, then transfer to line 3 and get off at the Confucius Temple Station.
  • From Nanjing South Railway Station: Directly take metro line 3 to Confucius Temple Station.

By Bus

Various public buses can take you near the Qinhuai River area. Look for bus routes that stop close to Fuzimiao (Confucius Temple) or Zhonghua Gate. Some of the useful bus lines include 1, 4, 7, 30, 40, 44, and others.

By Taxi

Taxis are plentiful in Nanjing. A trip to the Qinhuai River, especially if you mention the Confucius Temple, will be familiar to any driver.

By Car

If you are driving, there are several parking areas near the Confucius Temple area where the Qinhuai River is most lively, especially at night. Keep in mind that the area can get busy, and parking might be challenging to find during peak times and festivals.

By Bicycle or On Foot
