Ramappa Temple, also known as the Ramalingeswara temple, is located in the village of Palampet, approximately 77 km away from Warangal city in the state of Telangana, India. This temple is an architectural marvel of the Kakatiya dynasty, engraved in history around 1213 AD by the general Recherla Rudra during the reign of the Kakatiya ruler Ganapati Deva. The temple is named after its architect, Ramappa, which is a rare instance of a temple being referred to by the name of the sculptor. The presiding deity is Lord Shiva, worshipped as Ramalingeswara. The temple complex is notable for its intricate carvings and detailed sculptures that adorn the walls and columns. One of the significant features of this temple includes the sandstone infrastructure, which is astonishingly lightweight and the temple's floating brick, which exemplifies the technological advancement of the time.
